What are we launching?
Tasks. You can now keep track of your todos alongside your project overview and project updates. ๐
Why is this important?
It moves Macro a step closer to being the single source of truth for your projects - so you can track everything in one place.
Whatโs the customer problem?
Existing tools (Monday, Trello etc) are good at managing tasks, however they donโt let you co-locate tasks with general project info and updates. The result? Information is stored in multiple places making it hard to share and discover. With Macro, you can track projects at the high level (info, key links, updates) and also see individual tasks, all in one place.
Popular task tracking tools (Monday, Asana etc) are also expensive and complex, making them less desirable for some SMEs. In contrast, Macro is simple and cheap.
What is the UX?
All tasks have the following:
- a title
- status (todo, in progress, in review, done, cancelled)
- due date
- assigned to
- description (with full markdown/image support)
Quickly create new tasks
Drag and drop to reorder
Update status using the status dropdown
Task groups are automatically hidden, so if all your tasks are in โTodoโ, thatโs all youโll see. Nice and simple.
Whatโs next?
There are a few features still in progress - the most important one is task comments. Of course you can track these on the Tasks page for this project.
