Going public
No not that kind of going public. I’m talking about the launch of public projects. There’s also some sweet new designs for project and thread pages. Read on to find out more.
Public projects
You can now set any project as ‘public’ to make it visible to anyone. For clarity:
- private projects are only visible to your workspace members
- public projects are visible to everyone, even those without a Hidoki account
You can make a project public in Project -> Settings -> Edit info
. By default all projects are private so you don’t have to do anything to your existing projects.
Because public projects are visible for all, they’re great for talking with customers and building in public.
NB. There is one use case not yet covered - letting guests view a private project. This will likely be supported in future.
New project overview and thread designs
Project overview and thread pages now have a slick new single column look. All info previously in the right sidebar is now located in the metabar (I’m trademarking this name 🔥) under the page title. Here’s what the new project page looks like:

What’s next?
For next week, I’ll be focused on business/growth stuff - see here for more info.
Thanks for supporting Hidoki ❤️

Public projects will be really useful for us as I know CEO is keen to have some available to clients
Awesome. Super excited about this feature, not least for building Hidoki in public.
